In 2019, our hotel was awarded the »GREEN KEY« eco label, the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. This prestigious eco-label represents a commitment by businesses that their premises adhere to the strict criteria set by the Foundation for Environmental Education. This eco label is a recognition for our excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation.

We declare the following:
 • We are environment-friendly in all the fields of our business;
 • We educate our guests, friends and relatives about the importance of environmental sustainability;
 • We constantly strive for new solutions to responsibly use natural resources and efficiently use electric and thermal energy.

Such conduct is first and foremost important for our natural environment. In most cases such environmental care involves small steps which require only small efforts and relinquishing comfort only a little. All that is needed are simple and barely noticeable actions. However, if we all do this, we can change the world; we can make a difference and preserve our environment for next generations.
To achieve this, our hotel is using the so-called »environmental sparks«. So, we kindly ask you to respect these instructions. Together we will make our environment cleaner. We also look forward to your suggestions – we will take them into consideration and, if appropriate, communicate them to competent bodies.

WE USE THE WATER TO QUENCH OUR THIRST, BUT WE USE ONLY AS MUCH AS NEEDED
To sustain a satisfactory quality of life, a person needs about 80 litres of water per day. In Slovenia, each member of a household uses between 130 and 200 litres of drinking water every day. Only flushing the toilet requires 2 to 8 litres of clear drinking water, and for cooking an average Slovenian household uses about 6 litres of water per day.
We are proud to host you in an area where the water that comes out of the tap is potable! Slovenia boastsvery clear and high-quality water! So, fill your glass and enjoy its freshness!
Use the water with care – for instance, turn the tap off while brushing your teeth. This way you will save 18 litres of water per minute! Keep this in mind when showering or taking a bath: don't let the water run in vain.

WE REPLACE TOWELS ONLY IF NECESSARY
Replacing towels every day is very environmentally unfriendly. It comes with excessive use of energy, water and detergents, which means an excessive burden for the environment. Our hotel uses only environment-friendly detergents. And we also save the environment by reducing the use of energy, water and detergents - we wash the towels only when they are truly dirty.
Our environment will be grateful if you leave your towels on the oor only when they are really dirty and need to be washed.

WE SEPARATE WASTE CONSCIENTIOUSLY
We separate waste in accordance with instructions. We always dispose of the waste into relevant dedicated bins and never throw them on the ground or in the drain. Such careless disposal of waste pollutes underground water and other sources of potable water. Please dispose of the waste into dedicated bins.

WE ARE REDUCING THE USE OF PLASTIC
Plastic is a great threat – to the environment and humankind. Every year, each individual in slovenia uses between 100 and 300 plastic bags which are in use only a few minutes or maybe an hour. Because globally we produce more and more plastic, and 6,4 million tones of it end up in the natural environment, the plastic particles and substances, which enter animal and human bodies, greatly influence our health.
Let's do our best to avoid using single-use plastic products!

TURN OFF THE LIGHTS CONSCIENTIOUSLY
Our hotel uses energy saving/led bulbs. We turn off the lights when we don't need them. This is our contribution to reduced energy use and preservation of the environment.

WE REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
We close the doors and windows/shutters. This means that in summer we keep the room cool, thereby reducing the need for air conditioning. This is an efficient way to reduce carbon footprint.
We air the rooms briefly in the morning and evening.
We close all the windows when the air conditioner is on. The temperature of the air conditioner is set to 4 and maximum 6 degrees Celsius less than the outdoor temperature.
When you leave your room, turn the air conditioner off.
