With small actions that require little effort or sacrifice from any of us, we can make a difference together. Let us be responsible every day – even on holidays and during our stay at the hotel. For your reflection and inspiration, we share with you our “environmental sparks.” Embrace them and live by them!

WE VALUE OUR DRINKING WATER AND USE IT WISELY

To maintain a good quality of life, an average person needs around 80 litres of drinking water per day. In Slovenia, we use between 130 and 200 litres of drinking water per person per day. Just one toilet flush uses between 2 and 8 litres of clean drinking water, and for cooking, an average Slovenian household uses 6 litres daily. We are proud to welcome you to a place where the water is drinkable! Slovenia has exceptionally clean and high-quality water. Simply pour yourself a glass and enjoy!
We use water sparingly – we close the tap while brushing our teeth, saving up to 18 litres of water per minute. We also pay attention not to let water run unnecessarily while showering or bathing.

WE CHANGE TOWELS THOUGHTFULLY

Daily towel changes are harmful to the environment because of the electricity, water, and detergents consumed. Our hotel uses only eco-friendly laundry detergents. We also protect and preserve the environment by reducing electricity, water, and detergent use – towels are washed only when they are actually dirty.
Help the environment by placing towels on the floor only when you wish them to be washed.

WE SORT WASTE DILIGENTLY

We separate waste according to instructions, always disposing of it in the correct bins – never in nature or drains. Waste thrown inappropriately can pollute groundwater and other drinking water sources. Please use the separate waste bins located in the hotel corridors.

WE REDUCE PLASTIC USE

Plastic poses a major threat to both the environment and human health. In Slovenia, each person uses between 100 and 300 plastic bags annually, each for only a few minutes to an hour. Worldwide, we produce more and more plastic – 6.4 million tons end up in nature each year. Plastic particles and chemicals enter animals’ and humans’ bodies, affecting our health. Let us avoid single-use plastic products whenever possible.

WE TURN OFF LIGHTS CONSCIOUSLY

We use energy-efficient LED bulbs and switch off lights when they are not needed. This helps reduce electricity consumption and protect the environment.

WE REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

We keep doors and windows/shutters closed. This prevents rooms from heating up in summer, reducing the need for cooling. In this way, we effectively lower our carbon footprint.
We air out rooms briefly in the morning and evening. When using air conditioning, we keep windows closed and set the temperature 4–6°C lower than outside. We recommend turning off the air conditioning when leaving the room.

WE EXPLORE THE AREA USING ECO-FRIENDLY TRANSPORT

Our area is ideal for cycling and hiking. Every trip or sightseeing tour done by bike or on foot instead of by car is an eco-friendly act. Have you ever thought about how differently we experience a place when we visit it on foot or by bike? Up close, we can truly feel, smell, and hear it.
